Ignite Change: Call for Submissions

 

The Ignite Change 2023 Global Convention commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights is developing a book of creative works that promote action toward the advancement of human rights, dignity, justice, peace, and freedom. We are accepting a variety of creative works, including essays, articles, poetry, art and other literary works. 

Submission Guidelines

 

Length: Written submissions should be a maximum of 8000 words, excluding references and bibliography. 

 

Formatting: Please ensure that all written submissions follow the Canadian Press Style Guide. For art submissions, we ask for a high resolution .jpg or .png digital image.

 

Originality: Submissions must be original works not previously published elsewhere.

 

Language: Submissions in English and French are welcome.

 

Abstract: Include an abstract of no more than 250 words summarizing the work.

 

References: Cite all sources appropriately, providing a comprehensive list at the end of the paper.

 

Submission Timeline

 

Expression of Interest Deadline: December 15th, 2023. Interested creators are required to send an expression of interest by this date. Please include a brief description of your proposed work.

 

Full Submission Deadline: April 30, 2024. Creators must submit their complete work by this date.

 

Review Process: All submissions will undergo a peer-review process by 2 individuals. The criteria for evaluation will include clarity, relevance, and contribution to the advancement of human rights.

 

Publication: Accepted creative works will be published in a book, and creators will receive credit for their contributions. This publication will serve as a valuable resource for all members of civil society, including academics, decision-makers, activists, youth, and anyone interested in the advancement of human rights.
